December 10 - December 16, 2017

  • On Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 9:29PM, dispatch received several calls regarding a possibly intoxicated, erratic driver in the area of State Route 58 and Cooper Foster Park Road. Upon arrival to the area, an officer was able to observe the vehicle in question traveling southbound on State Route 58 near State Route 2. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Audrey Greenrod, age 34 of Avon Lake, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over 170% and Endangering Children.

     

  • On Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 3:02AM, an officer was dispatched to a business on North Leavitt Road in reference to a private property accident that occurred in the parking lot. An investigation was conducted and it was learned a male drove his van into the side of another vehicle and continued traveling down the entire driver’s side of the vehicle causing damage to the driver’s side mirror, driver’s door, rear passenger’s door, and rear driver’s side quarter panel and bumper. Jeffrey Kneisel, age 54 of Amherst, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

     

     

  • On Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:49AM, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and North Leavitt Road in reference to male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at the intersection. It was reported other motorists knocked on the windows of the vehicle in an attempt to get the male driver to wake up. It was reported the male would open his eyes for a brief period and the vehicle was still in drive. Upon arrival to the scene, one officer positioned his cruiser in front of the vehicle in question and placed the push bumper on the front of vehicle to prevent it from moving forward and to protect other motorists’ safety. Another officer approached the vehicle on the driver’s side and noticed the male in question passed out with his head down and slumped forward in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was running and in drive with the male’s foot on the brake. After several attempts at waking the driver up, the officer was able to put the car in park. Cody Kaya, age 25 of Lorain, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Stopping Vehicle Slow Speeds and Obstructing Intersection.
