April 2 - April 8, 2017

  • On Sunday, April 2, 2017 at approximately 11:30 PM, an officer on routine patrol on State Route 58 observed a vehicle being operated with an equipment violation. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Lewis Wade, age 25 of Lorain, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Tail Lights.

     

  • On Wednesday, April 05, 2017 at 2:46 AM, an officer on patrol on State Route 58 observed a driver commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Erique Davyn McBerry, age 19 of Elyria, was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension and Fictitious Registration.

     

     

  • On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 8:20 PM, an officer was on patrol on State Route 58 and observed a driver commit numerous traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Mitchell Comfort, age 48 of Cleveland, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Failure to Control, Open Container, Marked Lanes, Safety Belt and Weaving.

     

  • On Friday, April 07, 2017 at 7:44 PM, officers were dispatched to the area of South Main Street, near the Five Points intersection, for a possible intoxicated driver. It was reported the driver was coming up to the 5 Points intersection. An officer noticed the vehicle in question stopped approximately 3 car lengths from the stop bar intersecting the streets. The suspect vehicle did not have any vehicles in front of it, but it had a long line of several vehicles behind it. At this time, the officer waved for the vehicle to enter the intersection to go before him. The driver eventually traveled northbound through the intersection and the officer radioed to the second officer that it was traveling towards his direction. The second officer observed the vehicle operating at a very high rate of speed approaching the intersection of West Martin Avenue and North Main Street. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Harold Kendrick, age 52 of Amherst, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Weaving Course, Marked Lanes and Slow Speeds.

     

     

  • On Saturday, April 08, 2017 at approximately 2:51 PM, an officer was dispatched to a business on Oak Point Road regarding a theft complaint. An investigation was conducted and three female juveniles, age 16 of Grafton, age 15 of Elyria and age 16 of Sheffield Lake, were cited into diversion for Theft and Criminal Tools.
