June 8 - June 14, 2014

  • On Sunday, June 08, 2014 at approximately 06:00 PM, officers responded to a business on Oak Point Road in regards to a shoplifter in custody. An investigation was conducted and Nicholas Kuehn, age 27 of Lorain, was charged with Theft, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

  • On Sunday, June 8, 2014 at approximately 8:30 PM, an officer was dispatched to the area of State Route 2 and State Route 58 for a mental health patient who jumped out of a moving ambulance. Upon arrival to the area just moments later, the officer spoke to an employee from the ambulance who advised a patient being transported to a facility jumped from the moving squad nearly being struck by a vehicle. The male was wearing a hospital gown and ran south. The officer drove south a short distance and observed the male enter a business on Leavitt Road. The officer entered the building and observed the male standing at the front counter by himself talking to a staff member. After a short standoff the male was struck with a CEW (Taser) and taken into custody. He was taken back into custody by the Ambulance crew.

 

  • On Friday, June 13, 2014 at 09:28 AM, an officer was on patrol on Middle Ridge Road near South Lake Street. The officer observed a vehicle being operated with an expired registration. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Lisa A. Staats, age 50 of Vermilion, was cited for Driving Under Suspension, Alcohol Consumption in a Motor Vehicle, Open Container and Expired Plates..

 

  • On Saturday, June 14, 2014 at approximately 11:33 PM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Charles Avenue in reference to an intoxicated male found hiding on the side of the residence. The male was reported to be walking towards Alexander Avenue. Officers searched the area and were told by several residents of the neighborhood that they witnessed a male running through their backyards. The male was eventually located and David Yorks, age 20 of Elyria, was charged with Underage Consumption, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Disturbing the Peace.
