  • On Friday, June 6, 2014 at 4:11 PM, an officer was dispatched to the area of Middle Ridge Road and Michael Lane in reference to a dog at large. The police department has responded to the area multiple times for the same compliant. The owner of the dog, David Ingalls, age 20 of Amherst, was cited for Dog at Large.

 

  • On Friday, June 06, 2014 at approximately 08:09 PM, officers responded to the area of North Lake Street and State Route 2, in regards to a possible intoxicated driver headed northbound on North Lake Street. It was reported the suspect vehicle was weaving from side to side and several times nearly struck telephone poles that lined the west side of the roadway. The vehicle was located and observed entering State Route 2 and weaving on the entrance ramp. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Timothy Stack, age 55 of Avon Lake, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Weaving Course and Marked Lanes.

 

  • On Friday, June 6, 2014, at approximately 08:21 PM, an officer was dispatched to a park in regards to a criminal trespassing complaint. It was reported three (3) ATV's were in the woods in the Metro Park, last seen in the creek, near the bridge. Upon arrival, the officer could hear the ATV's somewhere in the woods. It sounded like the ATV's were riding over brush and were operating recklessly. The officer was advised by a witness the ATV's were running over trees, destroying Metro Park property, operating recklessly, and were making a large amount of noise. An investigation was conducted. One of the suspect's, Jeffrey Ramsier, age 30 of Sandusky, was located and charged with Criminal Trespass, Obstructing Official Business, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer and Criminal Mischief.

 

  • On Saturday, June 7, 2014 at approximately 6:00 PM, an officer received information on the location of a male wanted on multiple warrants. While an officer was knocking at the front door the male exited the rear of the residence. Another officer ordered him to stop but he ran eastbound. A foot pursuit ensued and the male was ordered to stop several times. The male became cornered between a garage, fence, and two officers. Tyler Young, age 19 of Amherst, was charged with Obstructing Official Business. The other agencies with warrants for Young were advised he was in custody.
