May 4 - May 10, 2014

  • On Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 01:34 AM, an officer on patrol on SR 58 observed a vehicle being operated with equipment violations. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted.   Daniel Gonzalez, age 20 of Lorain, was charged with License Plate Light Illumination, Faulty Exhaust, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

  • On Thursday, May 8, 2014 at approximately 05:10 PM, officers were dispatched to Spring Street regarding a fight between two juvenile females. Upon arrival, both juveniles were located and an investigation was conducted. Both females had fought each other, and were broken up by friends. Once the investigation was complete, both juveniles, age 15 of Amherst and Lorain, were cited with disorderly conduct.

 

  • On Friday, May 9, 2014 at approximately 09:15 PM, an officer was dispatched to the area of State Route 2 westbound between State Route 58 and Oak Point Road in reference to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was initiated on Forde Ave. An investigation was conducted and Kevin Madigan, age 59 of Amherst, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170% and Weaving Course.

 

  • On Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 01:04 AM, officers were dispatched to a downtown bar in reference to a fight. An investigation was conducted and Joshua Dotson, age 29 of Amherst, was charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

 

  • On Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 02:20 AM, officers were dispatched to a different downtown bar in reference to a male causing problems at the bar. While enroute, officers were advised the male in question was Joshua Dotson, who officers had dealt with an hour earlier for a similar incident. An investigation was conducted and it was learned that Dotson was attempting to start another confrontation with the intoxicated male he was involved with earlier. Dotson left the area prior to officers’ arrival. Joshua Dotson was later charged with disorderly conduct intoxication, his second such charge for the night.
