Februray 23 - March 1, 2014

  • On Sunday, February 23, 2014, at approximately 01:14 AM, an officer was dispatched to East Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked on the street, playing loud music. It was reported the vehicle appeared to contain two occupants who may be smoking Marijuana. Upon arrival to the area, the officer could hear the muffled sound of the bass from near the intersection of Franklin Ave. and East St. As he neared the intersection he observed a vehicle parked on Franklin Ave that was running. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by two males. The officer shined his cruiser's spotlight on the vehicle to better see the occupants. Upon doing so, the driver of the vehicle placed the car in drive and proceeded to pull away from the intersection. The officer activated his overhead lights signaling the vehicle to stop. The vehicle pulled into a driveway of a residence on Franklin Avenue. An investigation was conducted and David Orzech, age 18 of Amherst, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

  • On 02/23/14 at approximately 05:10 PM, officers were dispatched to a business on Kresge Drive in reference a female stealing items. The suspect was gone upon officers arrival. After an investigation, the female was identified and a warrant was filed. 

   

  • On, 02/25/14, at approximately 05:33 PM, officers were dispatched to the same business in reference the same female stealing a shopping cart full of meat. The female was later apprehended. Amanda Ray, age 29 of Lorain, was charged with Theft and Possession Criminal Tools. Ray was also served the warrant on the charges of Theft and Possession Criminal Tools from the earlier theft.

 

  • On Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 9:20 AM, an officer was dispatched to a business on Kresge Drive in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A male was reported to be leaving the store with a shopping cart full of beverages. The male was located by an officer in the parking lot and an investigation was conducted. Sean Mcmanus, age 31 of Bay Village, was charged with Petty Theft, Possession of Drugs, Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

  • On Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 01:53 AM, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated with expired license plates. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Justin Rubeck, age 30 of Lorain, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana and Expired Plates.
