February 2 - February 8, 2014

  • On Sunday, February 2, 2014 at approximately 01:49 AM, officers were dispatched to the area of Cleveland Ave near the cemetery in regards to two males fighting. Upon arrival, the officers observed two males on the ground, fighting in the middle of St. Joseph Drive. Both males got to their feet and stood in a boxing stance staring at each other. An investigation was conducted and Jeremy Coleman, age 27 of Lorain and Justin Miller, age 26 of Lorain, were charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

 

  • On Sunday, February 2, 2014, at approximately 02:18 AM, an officer was at the intersection of Park Avenue and Church Street. He observed a vehicle begin to pull out of a parking lot onto Church St. The vehicle revved its engine as it began to turn southbound onto Church St. This caused the tires to spin and the driver of the vehicle to lose control. The truck then proceeded to spin in a 360 degree turn while traveling down Church St. towards Park Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Collin Lee Hamilton, age 21 of Elyria, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08% and Failure to Control.

 

  • On Tuesday, February 04, 2014, at approximately 07:38 PM, officers were dispatched to the area of a business on Cooper Foster Park Road to search for a missing teenager. The teenager was involved in a verbal argument with his mother and ran away from the scene. Officers later retrieved the male and returned him to his mother. The male juvenile, age 17 of Amherst, was charged with Unruly Child.

 

  • On Friday, February 07, 2014 at approximately 07:47 PM, officers were dispatched to a business on North Leavitt Road in reference an intoxicated female. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and the female was found to be impaired and had driven to the business earlier in the evening. The vehicle owned by the female was parked in a handicap parking space which was also a violation. Laureen Suspenski, age 57 of Amherst, was charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Handicap Parking Violation.

 

  • On Saturday, February 08, 2014, at approximately 01:41 AM, officers were dispatched to Cleveland Avenue in reference a female causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located the female and found her to be under the influence of alcohol and prescription pills. The female was yelling and cursing at staff and officers on scene. The female was also found to have an active warrant through another agency. Melanie Ramirez, age 34 of Oberlin, was charged with Obstructing Official Business, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct Persisting and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. Ramirez was later released to the other agency for the warrant.
