  • On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at approximately 12:38 AM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cleveland Avenue in reference to a trespass complaint. It was reported a female entered the residence and began yelling and screaming looking for her adult daughter. The female had since left the area in a vehicle. The vehicle and female were located at a business on Leavitt Road and an investigation was conducted. Dianna Simulcik, age 49 of Berlin Heights, was charged with Criminal Trespass and Disturbing the Peace.


  • On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 01:18 AM, officers were dispatched to the area of Church Street in reference to a male that had been assaulted and was unconscious. The victim was located, lying on the sidewalk in front of a business, bleeding heavily from his mouth. An ambulance had already arrived on scene and was assisting him. A witness was located who advised another male struck the victim 4 or 5 times and then left the scene. After speaking to the victim further, he advised he did not know who assaulted him and that he would not want to press charges anyway.


  • On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at approximately 04:59 AM, officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. Dispatch was on the phone with a hysterical female stating that her friends stole her vehicle. After an investigation, it was learned that the vehicle in question was never stolen and that the complainant was highly intoxicated. Michelle Astorino, age 18 of Lorain, was charged with Underage Consumption.


  • On Saturday, February 01, 2014 at approximately 02:32 PM, officers were dispatched to a business on Oak Point Road in reference a juvenile shoplifter in custody. An investigation was conducted and a juvenile male, age 16 of Lorain, was charged with theft.


  • On Saturday, February 1, 2014, an officer was working a bingo detail. The officer was monitoring a male and female who had been in a verbal argument earlier. Another male arrived in an aggravated state and was walking directly towards the male involved in the earlier dispute. The officer interceded and removed the male from the bingo hall. It was learned he was the female‚Äôs husband and she called him after the initial argument. The husband was removed from the hall and told not to return. The first male was then also removed to ensure the safety of the other players, his own safety, and to prevent further disturbance in the hall. He was advised to leave the area and not return. He was very argumentative as he was removed. This male later called the hall and was told to cease calling or face criminal repercussions.


  • On Saturday, February 1, 2014 at approximately 06:32 PM, an officer was dispatched to a residence on North Ridge Road for a vehicle sliding into the house. It was learned a delivery driver had pulled into the driveway to make a delivery. The driver advised he got out of the vehicle and made the delivery and when went back to where he had parked his vehicle it was gone. He located the vehicle near the bottom of the steep driveway with its left front end and left front tire against the east side cement block foundation of the house. The vehicle appeared to have slid down the sharply inclined driveway. The driveway was very icy and the rain that was falling had made it even slicker. An accident report was taken.
