May 5 - May 11, 2013

  • On Thursday, May 9, at 11:56 AM, an officer was dispatched to a business on Cooper Foster Park Road in regards to a bicycle theft complaint. It was learned that a male’s unlocked bicycle was taken on Wednesday, May 8. He did not report the theft until the next day because he believed someone may have been playing a joke on him. There are no suspects at this time.

 

  • On Friday, May 10, 2013 at approximately 11:45 AM, an officer was dispatched to Amherst Junior High for a drug complaint. An investigation was conducted and a male juvenile, age 14 of Amherst, was charged with Drug Abuse. A male juvenile, age 14 of Lorain, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A male juvenile, age 13 of Amherst, was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Trafficking of Drugs at a School.

 

  • On Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 12:30 AM, an officer was dispatched to the area of Stardust Trail and Tropicana Ave in regards to a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was initiated. A male juvenile, age 17 of Lorain, was charged with Unruly Child, Curfew and Possession of Tobacco.

 

  • On Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 01:42 AM, an officer on patrol at a motel on N. Leavitt Road observed two juvenile females walking in the parking lot. The officer stopped the females and conducted an investigation. Two other juvenile females were located in the area and the investigation led officers to a room at the motel. A juvenile male was located in the room as well as an adult male. An odor of burnt marijuana was present inside the room and an open bottle of whiskey and an open bottle of vodka were also located. Three of the five juveniles, all females age 16 of Lorain, were found to have consumed intoxicating beverages and were cited for underage consumption and curfew. The other two juveniles, a female age 15 and male age 17, both of Lorain, were cited for curfew. All juveniles were transported to the police department where they were released to a parent pending notification from juvenile court on when to appear. Jose Lucena, age 19 of Lorain, was cited for underage consumption.
